Boston Marathon

I have been watching the news all day about the Boston Marathon bombings, and have seen posts from people about how they have lost faith in humanity. This is my post to you.

What happened today was atrocious, and without a doubt, should break your hearts. You should want those who set off those bombs to be punished. You should want to curse them. You should want to wish it never happened. But you shouldn’t let this event make you lose any faith in humanity.

When I saw the pictures and the video coverage, I saw hundreds and thousands of people, whether they be friends, family members or strangers, they were helping one another out; I saw more people running towards the bombs than away, caring more about the safety of those around them, than themselves. I saw good people being punished by the bad, yet despite this, stayed good.

There are horrible people out there, but that’s not humanity. Humanity is when you look deeper into the horrific coverage, and see people helping one another out.

Don’t let the bad make you lose faith in humanity. The good outnumber the bad. Remember that.
